Paquita vs. Carmen

Eva O. Howard Theatre, Victoria School Citie Ballet's season opener with Spanish themes and French passion. Paquita, choreographed by the godfather of classical choreographers Marius Petipa, was based on story of mistaken identity. A gypsy turns out to be of noble birth. Classical highlights from Act III will be presented. Carmen, the fiery tempestuous gypsy of the opera, receives a new contemporary interpretation, based on the original novel by Prosper MerimÈe, choreographed by FranÁois Chevennement.

Community Spirit '09
2:30 p.m. Sunday February 22, 2009 Eva O. Howard Theatre, Victoria School Citie Ballet's 5th edition, featuring several outstanding groups from the Edmonton and surrounding district dance community. A wide spectrum of dance styles and choreography. Special guest artists from the Alberta Ballet return for a 2nd season.
Cite Ballet raised $5000 for the Zebra Centre during Community Spirit '08.

Howard Theatre, Victoria School After outstanding success with collaborations with FreeFall Dance (Convergence) and Orchesis (Perspectives), you can expect another evening of surprises from out of the hat of FranÁois Chevennement. Plans for something completely unexpected are underway.
